The National Joint Council ‘Green Book’ Pay Award has now been confirmed and published.
For staff outside of London, a general increase of £1,290 per annum, pro rata for part time and term time only staff, has been applied to all scale points 2- 43 in the NJC pay range. Employees paid in excess of the maximum of the scale will receive a 2.5% increase. Allowances have also been increased by 2.5%.
Outer London staff will receive a general £1,491 increase to all scale points, while those in inner London will receive a £1,575 increase.
All increases should be backdated to 1st April 2024.
Please find attached the Local Government Association circular confirming the increase and new salary scales here >>.
If you have not already provided us with your approved Support Staff Pay Scales and Allowance rates to be applied from 1st April 2024, please attach these (ideally as an Excel spreadsheet) to the ticket that was recently opened for you via the HR Connect Customer Portal (with description “2024/25 NJC Support Staff Pay Scales”). We can then arrange to have your payment tables updated within our HR/Payroll System.
If you have any Support Staff members employed on a Spot Salary, you will find a spreadsheet available to download via this ticket, detailing their current salaries. Please review these and reattach to the ticket to confirm whether any increases need to be applied, in line with other staff members on the NJC pay scales.
The deadline for these submissions is the same as our other Salary Assessment Submissions, which is the last day of the calendar month to be paid the following month. So for staff to receive their backdated pay increases in November, you will need to submit your new pay scales and any increases for those on Spot Salaries on or before the 31st October 2024, and for backdated pay increases to be received in December, we will need to receive your new rates by 30th November etc.
These increases apply only to Schools and Academies outside of Kent which follow NJC terms. Kent Maintained Schools and Academies which follow Kent Scheme can disregard this notification.
