September is a peak month supporting our customers with their return to school and one item we don’t want you worrying about is your payroll! Before you leave school for the summer, please make sure you have taken the following steps:
- Make sure all August leavers have been terminated through Manager Self-Service. You can view employment end dates in Manager Self Service, so please kindly take a quick check to ensure all you expect to be leaving, have an end date applied.
- Ensure any instructions to extend or make permanent temporary of fixed term contracts have been submitted through your usual submission method. Remember, HR Connect handle temporary contracts and fixed term contracts that same for payroll purposes where end dates are added to prevent overpayments – so please ensure any extensions to review dates or original end dates are submitted, a long with any contract made permanent changes. Not only is this needed for payroll purposes.
- Submit your September 2024 new starters. Employers have an obligation to provide employees information to terms of employment (contracts) on or before their start date, so please submit new starters ahead of the summer term so you are compliant with this timeline.
- Submit any changes that are August or September pay affecting – again, this ensures you have the contract variation on or before September 2024.
- Submit any outstanding claims and expenses through Manager Self-Service
