Youth Mental Health – Improve your active listening skills

Written by HR Connect | Feb 16, 2024 11:00:37 AM

Children’s Mental Health week ( 5 – 11 February 2024) focussed on a theme of ‘My Voice Matters’.

This awareness week encouraged schools to provide children with the tools they need to express themselves. (If you missed the resources, you can find them here)

Empowering young people to express themselves leads to a greater sense of community and self-esteem, both key protective factors contributing to positive mental health.

Unfortunately, many young people, still find it extremely difficult to talk to someone when they are struggling.

If you are a member of staff looking to support young people aged 8-18 with their mental health and wellbeing, our Youth Mental Health First Aid course can brush up your active listening skills.

Find out about our course here.

If you have access to the Department for Education (DfE) Senior Mental Health Lead Training grant you can fund further training, activity or resources that support the development of a senior mental health lead. Use part of your grant to access this accredited course.
